About Mrs. Hendree
Hi! I am Marisa Hendree. My husband and I enjoy traveling, bike riding, and game nights with friends and family. I also enjoy playing the piano, reading, and playing with my camera. My husband and I are foster parents to a 10 year old boy, 7 year old girl, and 2.5 year old boy. This will be my sixteenth year teaching 4th grade. I also spent six years teaching 3rd grade. Five of those years were with Lakeview Community Schools in Montcalm County. Teaching reading and writing are two of my passions in the classroom.
My mission statement for my classroom is "creating a safe, positive environment where academic and social risks are taken by each individual learner". I do not expect my students to be perfect, but I always expect them to give their "perfect effort" and make mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn. Because the expectations are high and mistakes are embraced, a physically and emotionally safe learning environment is essential. We spend many weeks on creating a unified team through team building activities, and cooperative reading and writing lessons.
I am looking forward to the upcoming year and consider it an honor to be your child's teacher. Please use this website to keep informed as to what is happening in our classroom. The quickest and easiest way to get a hold of me is via
