Fenway and Hattie Hopefully you are reading Fenway and Hattie as a family. To celebrate the book, your student may bring in a photo of their pet (or the pet they wish they had!). We will start a collage of Park Pets on Monday! 5/6 Building Orientation Opportunities Please read the message from Mrs. McClure: Hello incoming fifth grade students and families. The 5/6 Building @ Georgetown is excited to welcome our new fifth grade students for the 24-25 school year! To help with this transition, we are planning two orientation/tour evenings for students and their parents/guardians on Monday, April 22 and Monday, April 29. On these evenings, we will have three different time slots starting at 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00. During these orientations, we will give an overview of what fifth grade will look like at 56G and then provide families with tours of the building. To help answer some questions that you may have at this time, check out this short presentation about fifth grade at 56G. M-STEP Information Please read the following information in regard to M-STEP. THANK YOU! I just want to say thank you for the positive response I received after sending out the email about taking five weeks off after spring break as we move this little guy in with his siblings. The support has been so encouraging and affirming to the decision my husband and I made about taking some time off. Miss T will continue to be in our classroom when she can to observe the routines and classroom management that is utilized to help make this a smooth transition. Students will use the Blueprint Reflection to consider the perspective of the other person or people during a conflict. As students increase their capacity for empathy, they will reflect on the importance of empathy for maintaining their classroom’s emotional climate. Students will build upon these skills by considering strategies for resolving conflict.
